Questacon’s mission is to inspire future scientists and the wider community and enhance awareness and understanding of the contribution of science to Australia’s future.

As Australia’s national science and technology centre, Questacon is committed to taking science and technology awareness programs to regional, rural and remote Australia, and has developed a number of thriving outreach programs that focus on maths, science, innovation, and early childhood education.

The Questacon Outreach Presenters will contribute to this commitment by developing and delivering a range of presentations and workshops in schools around Australia, within a number of different outreach programs. The successful applicants will have demonstrated performance skills suitable for a range of audiences, particularly primary and secondary students from diverse cultural backgrounds. There are positions available in two outreach programs – Questacon Smart Moves and Tenix Questacon Maths Squad.

These positions are based in Canberra, but will involve extensive periods travelling, living and working in isolated areas in regional and remote Australia.

These are non-ongoing specified term positions initially until 17th December 2010. They are full time positions working Monday to Friday 37.5 hours per week, with weekend, after hours, and public holiday work as required. Flexibility is provided by the Questacon Collective Agreement.
